Christmas At My Parents House

I love Christmas time, I love the music, the vibe, the decorations, and most of all I love spending time with my family! This year my dood is deployed and I really wasn't feeling in the holiday mood. I have been running around and working a lot and I guess I didn't take the time to appreciate just how special this time of year really is until a few days ago. But after spending a perfect Christmas eve and day with my family I feel so blessed and it definitely got my in the Christmas spirit! Watching my niece opening up gifts from santa, spending some quality time at my in laws, and having a great big home cooked dinner at my moms. Yes, I miss my dood a lot today but I'm more looking forward to spending the holidays with him next year! Anywho, So this year I must have been a REALLY good girl because I got everything I could possibly need and more including a brand new camera. I broke my last one in Spain so I'm so excited to finally have one again! So while my mom and sister were out at a movie and my dad was busy fiddling on his Ipad I decided to capture some shots of what makes Christmas at my mom and dad's simply that; Christmas at my mom and dad's!

The reason for the season <3

Some of my favorite ornaments on my parents dream.

Our german pickle. As kids my parents would hide the pickle
and when my sister and I would wake up who ever found it first
would open the first present under the tree.

Of course I had to take a selfie :-p

My mom made a delicious flour-less chocolate cake. She got
the recipe from my Uncle David when she visited
her brothers and sisters in MN earlier this month!
It was absolutely amazing!

A cuppa christmas tea anyone?

Zoey seeming completely unamused on Christmas morning

Poinsettias finally turning red

My mom did a very classic table
centerpiece this year!

Our little elves on a shelf!

These are just a few of my favorite things from this season.
Expect a lot more blogging to come. I am truly enjoying my
new camera :D

A Weekend In The District With Rina

This past weekend one of my very best friends, Marina, came to visit me at my new home in DC. I'm so lucky to have such adventurous and dedicated friends. We explored the city I now live in, took the metro for the very first time, went sightseeing all through DC, and checked out the local night life. We even tried the rent-a-bikes all through the National Mall.(so much fun I recommend it!) Lastly we adventured to nova for some wine tasting!  Miss you already <3
